Free Home School Wall Art

5 years ago I made the decision to start homeschooling. With an elementary education degree in hand, and a slew of ideas in my heart, I was ready to be the BEST homeschool mom ever!!!

Yet somehow, three weeks in I found myself watching my 4 year old kick and scream on the floor like a T-Rex mixed with a dying fish...all because I wanted her to trace the letter C.

Homeschooling is hard when you start out! You realize very quickly that you can’t bring the school into your home and that your kids will still treat you like mom, even if you buy that fancy chart, color code and label your entire homeschool room, and buy new packs of markers and crayons. You’re still “snack-making, argument-solving, laundry-sniffing mom” to them.

This is where we all need help. One of the best things we can do is simply ask God to give us his eyes for our homeschool season. How can this time, whether it’s one year or many years, of having our kids at home with us be used for his purposes?

When we get a glimpse of the goals the Lord has for our home like restoring relationships, awaking a desire for beauty and wonder, increasing empathy and love, sharpening hearts with his word, etc., it’s easier to keep our eyes on the end goal and not get discouraged. It’s then that we’re able to simplify our days, make them more enjoyable, and stop stressing about skills or playing the comparison game.

You are doing awesome mama. ❤️And in case you need a daily reminder of the perseverance homeschooling takes, this free printable is for you.

Just keep moving your little snails along, mama. They’ll make it to the ark.

Hebrews 10:36

For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
